I have a Reolink camera model (E1 outdoor) that I can access on my phone through the reolink app. I can view the live feed even if I am not connected to my VPN which is OpenVPN. I have an asus Router RT-ACRH17.
If I tell the router to block internet access to the camera I can no longer see it on my phone through the internet. Not even if I connect to my VPN. But I can see it perfectly fine when I am directly connected to my LAN at home on my phone even if the router is currently blocking it from accessing the internet or not.
Something else I tried doing was to change the Cameras GATEWAY address so it cannot connect to the internet on its own. But this has the same effect. I can’t see it on my phone directly through the internet or even when I connect through my VPN. I can only ever see it when directly connected to my LAN when im at home.
What other method can I use to keep the camera from accessing the internet but be able to access it through my VPN?
