My front door is on nest doorbell. I picked up the wifi wireless cam, but no chance for wifi back there.
Thanks to this forum, I think my solution is…
1) acquire POE switch and connect to modem. Have switch go to a wired access point hub. Use cat5e to link an IP Cam.
2) acquire POE switch and connect to modem. Have switch go to a wifi enabled access point. Use nest cam in rear of property.
Either way, it looks like I’m running a long cat5 along the exterior of my home, and then trenching it to behind my garage.
Anything I’m missing? I already have the Google nest subscription so I figure I should give it constant power, and use that instead of a new camera brand/app/etc?
