I networked my house a year or so ago with Reolink security cameras. Since then, I have noticed a couple of blind spots where I would like to add additional cameras. Ideally, I’d like to avoid having to run new Cat6 cables from the DVR to the cameras. The blind spots are close in proximity to existing Cat6 terminals for reference.
Is there a way to essentially plug in the existing Cat6 to a splitter of some sort and run the additional cameras off of that? I tried a mini switch, but unfortunately, this did not work. I’d like to avoid having to install an ancillary DVR as well if possible. The existing DVR is a bit finnicky about recording without having the cameras directly hardwired into it. This is one of the primary challenges I have run into by trying to circumvent the direct hardwire.
Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated.
