Arris VIP2250 DVR, is it useless without U-Verse?
Finally dropped my AT&t U-verse cable and internet ($240 a month?!), was told to recycle all of the equipment instead of returning it. I’m interested to see if there is any sort of useful hack, or even any sort of useful information, for the Arris VIP2250 DVR unit. I’ve just spent the last hour or more searching every part number I could find both on and inside the box and I come up with both dit and squat. Nothing more than an installation guide and a couple of forum posts saying the boxes are useless without the digital signal from the provider. Is this the case? Just wondering if it has any possible use before I attempt to scavenge the 500 GB hard drive out of it and relegate it to the refuse pile.
