Staff Training Activity Idea?

Hello all!

So I’m running some staff training for a local charity on general data security/GDPR tips and best practice. Very much the basics e.g. Strong passwords, lock computers, encryption of devices and storage and so on.

Anyway, I wondered if someone had an idea that may shock them a bit or be some fun. I had thought maybe trying to catch a couple of them a phishing email in advance or getting them to complete a fun quiz and then using their answers to create a password list with setoolkit as a demo.

The hope is to shock a bit or at least jolt a bit of interest so they take it seriously. No malice intended.

Any suggestions?

Alarm to alert me when someone is on the front porch

I bought a cheap ‘driveway alarm’ off amazon for $40 and it worked for a few years but when we moved it to replace the porch it stopped working. It was plug in (USB power cord) and it worked fantastic, but when I went to reorder it I see they are no longer sold.

I tried a Swann driveway alarm, from Home Depot. It worked great, for one day. So it went back.

I prefer something hard wired or at least plug in (USB or 120) because I’m not one for replacing batteries where a ladder is needed. It will be installed on the underside of the porch roof, so a ladder is needed to access it.

I purposefully do not want a doorbell. I simply want to be alerted when someone is on the front porch, either delivering a package or to alert me to listen for a knock at the door.

I am in Canada, so getting stuff shipped from the US is not always possible or cost effective, so ideally I would like to buy it from within Canada. Also makes it easier to return if there’s an issue.

Can anyone think of something that would work well for what I’m asking for?
