I want to get some cameras to give me a 360 view around my house. I prefer to use ring cameras and use my ring “ecosystem”. Right now all I have is a ring doorbell that sits on a wall adjacent to my front door so it looks at the opposite wall, rather than facing out to the street. It is a permanent mounted ring so I can’t really move it without making a new hole for the wire, and patching the old one.

We have issues with porch pirates in my neighborhood and so I thought about putting cameras up on the corners of my house that face down the street, as well as a motion activated camera that is mounted above the garage and faces the front of my house.

I noticed that a lot of the porch pirates wear some kind of mask covering their face, but don’t cover their license plate. Would putting cameras on the front corners of my house and aimed down the street give me a view of their license plates? Would I need some special LPR cameras or should my regular ring cameras work?
