Is a door security bar needed?

I live in an apartment and can’t make too many permanent changes. I have added new strike plates with 3 inch screws. I also added a defender security door lock (found out after it’s apparently tiktoks famous and can be opened by a milk jug).

I was looking at the Buddybar but it’s $120 on Amazon and is quite outside the budget right now (plus the wife thinks it’s unnecessary).

Is there a better option or cheaper option for door security? We live on a very high second floor, so not worried about windows, but concerned about the fact someone could easily get into the small hallway we live on.
