The U.S. Navy has delivered to Malaysia the first of three transport aircraft upgraded to perform maritime patrol missions using U.S. funding meant to help regional nations improve maritime security.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has again ordered the Pentagon to postpone a planned test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, this time amid increased tension with China over Taiwan.

The Pentagon’s National Reconnaissance Office says the two recent missions demonstrate the United States’ agility and speed in space intelligence.

The union had objected to proposed changes to employees’ 401(k) benefits, and in late July voted to reject the contract offer and strike.

“The DoD has a vital interest in advancing 5G-to-NextG wireless technologies and concept demonstrations,” said Sumit Roy, the IB5G program director.

The Lockheed Martin-built satellite, the sixth and final SBIRS vehicle to launch to geosynchronous orbit, lifted off the morning of Aug. 4 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The testbed is scheduled to be on orbit in time for next year’s Northern Edge exercise hosted by U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.
