I have called tech support to help and we have not been able to solve the issue. I’m giving reddit a shot to see if maybe anyone can help

We just installed the Vista 20P in our building. The only reason we switched to the Vista 20P was because we needed a new keypad and the keypad for our old system was discontinued and we couldnt find a replacement anywhere! All motion sensors and door sensors worked perfectly previously.

Tech support helps us connect all the wires to the correct terminals with the resistors. They guided us through all the settings on the keypad to help us program it correctly. The front door and side door sensors work perfectly, but two of the motion sensors and the back door are showing fault. (Zone 2,4,5)

We double checked to make sure everything is connected properly on the Vista 20P and the tech said everything looked good. The tech had me put a resistor in the terminals for zone 2 to test the zone and the fault disappeared. He had me do the same thing for Zone 4 and 5 and all the faults disappeared when you close the circuit from the board.

We connected everything back normally and we tried shorting the wires from the sensors. When we twisted those wires together, the zone would still show a fault. We shorted the other zones and they would still show as fault. The tech is saying we need to run new wire from the sensors to the main panel.

It seems weird that 3 zones all of a sudden aren’t working when all zones worked perfectly fine on the old system.

This is my first time ever trying to wire a security system so I apologize if what I wrote is a bit confusing and if I’m not using correct terminology.
