Al Fadi and Brother Mel continue their discussion about the inscriptions of the Dome of the Rock. The recent claim by AJ Deus suggests that these inscriptions are not authentic to the 7th century but were created at a much later date in the 16th century. One of the main arguments supporting this is the fact is that the Christian Crusaders who had control of the Temple Mount for 200 years would not have allowed these inscriptions about Muhammad to remain. The Pope despised any other religions besides Christianity. Excommunication was a real threat to anyone who violated the Christian faith. Muhammad’s name was stripped from any coin that was made in the area. If this extreme devotion was the case for the Christian Crusaders, it stands to reason that they would not allow inscriptions of Muhammad to remain in the Dome of the Rock where they held their church services. This blasphemy stating Muhammad was greater than Jesus would have been destroyed.
