On February 10, 2023, Al-Mayadeen TV (Lebanon) aired a report about a two-day military exercise held by the Al-Mujahideen Brigades in the Gaza Strip in honor of the 23rd anniversary of the group’s establishment. In the exercise, which involved mock-up targets, the fighters simulated assaulting Israeli military outposts in Israeli territory, kidnapping and killing Israeli soldiers, and seizing and destroying military vehicles. The exercise also involved firing rockets. An Al-Mujahideen Brigades field commander referred to as “Abu Hamza” warned Israel that the group’s forces are “ready and capable” and are “lying in wait” to defeat Israel.
The 7th edition of the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons highlights a global struggle to detect cases oftrafficking, protect victims, and prosecute perpetrators. Al-Tofula Kindergarten in Beit Awwa in the West Bank posted several videos to its TIkTok account on February 14, 2023 showcasing the students simulating clashes with the Israel military forces and mimicking Palestinian militants. In one video, kindergarten students act out a scene in which Israeli soldiers attempt to arrest Palestinian militants in their home, however, their attempts are foiled, and two soldiers are killed, one of the Palestinian militants is shot dead in the clashes. The students then perform a funeral procession for the child simulating the “martyr.” In another video, students, with their faces covered in kufiyas, are seen simulating military training with toy guns and marching with guns in the air. According to the inscription on one of the videos, TikTok has removed the videos several times.
Sheikh Nasser Ridda of Hizb ut-Tahrir Sudan said in a Friday, February 3, 2023 sermon in Sudan that was posted to the Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayat Sudan YouTube channel that Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, has committed treason by recently meeting with Israel’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, by previously meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and by giving Israel’s Defense Minister access to Sudan’s defense industries. Sheikh Ridda also said that the Jews occupied Palestine so that they could use Palestinian land to cultivate and manufacture drugs, which he claimed they traffic through Egypt and Jordan. Palestinian Islamic scholar Sheikh Yousef Makharzah, who is affiliated with Hizb ut-Tahrir, said in a video posted on the Hizb ut-Tahrir-linked Al-Waqiyah TV YouTube channel on February 8, 2023 that Islam and fighting are “inseparable,” that infidels are “insolent,” and that the only thing that can keep them from seizing peoples’ wives and property is fear. He also told his audience to “prepare” to “go and fight the infidels in America” because it is the center of global corruption.
On February 5, 2023, Al-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) aired a report about Iranian Kurdish female fighters. The report said that 200 women from the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) are attending training camps in Iraqi Kurdistan, in which they are trained in the use of weapons and attend lectures about politics and civil rights. It said that many of the women had participated in the anti-regime demonstrations and had been tortured and abused by Iran’s security forces, and therefore have crossed the border into Iraq.

In a February 6, 2023 show on Awda TV (Palestinian Authority), Mutaz Birumi, a senior member of Fatah’s Syria branch, praised Khairy Alqam, the perpetrator of the recent synagogue massacre in Jerusalem. Birumi said that Alqam aimed and fired his weapon, but that it was actually Allah who fired the gun, taking “revenge” for the people of Jenin. He said that the terror attack was in accordance with the principle of “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth,” adding that “the blame lies with whoever started it.”
In a video posted on February 1, 2023 to his YouTube channel, Dr. Moustafa Kamel, the imam and director of the Alansar Mosque in Anaheim, California, cited a hadith describing how Muslims will kill the Jews on Judgement Day. He said that the rocks and the trees will help the Muslims kill the Jews, whom he described as a “bigoted and arrogant breed of people” opposed by “all the living creatures”. He also said that after the final war, the Jews “will never rise again,” and he said that Islamic tradition instructs Muslims to use any means available to fight their enemies, including bullets, rockets, and grenades.
