On January 10, 2023, a video was posted to the RTA Pashto channel on YouTube in which the head of a Muslim scholars’ delegation visiting the Taliban government in Afghanistan, Egyptian Islamist scholar Dr. Mohamed Al-Sagheer said that after “defeating” the U.S., the Taliban has effectively prevented the cultivation of drugs in Afghanistan. He said that the American “occupation” had supplied drugs to the world and used them to kill Afghans, and he claimed that several million Afghans have become drug addicts. In addition, he said that the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate has decided to “cleanse” Afghanistan of extremism and has dealt powerful blows to ISIS, which he said was sponsored by the American “occupation.”The delegation of Islamic religious scholars from Muslim countries traveled to Afghanistan in January 2023 and met with senior officials from the Afghan Taliban government, including Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, who is on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, deputy prime ministers, and others, according to Afghan newspapers and social media posts.

This clip is a compilation of footage from Friday demonstrations in Baluchestan on January 27 and February 3, 2023. The videos were posted on posted on Iranian dissident journalist Masih Alinejad’s Twitter account and other social media outlets. In the clip, demonstrators can be seen chanting such slogans as “Our tables are empty, Khamenei is a killer,” “Death to Khamenei!,” “Curse upon Khomeini!” “Death to the Basijis!” “Death to the IRGC!” “I will kill whoever killed my brother!” “Death to the oppressor, whether it is the Shah or the Leader!” The clip also includes footage from a car driving through a street, where several citizens are seen arrested, some pushed into cars and footage from a demonstration, where security personnel open fire at demonstrators, and victims with gunshot wounds are seen being removed from the area. Another video includes footage from a driving car, in which a man with his hands tied above his head to a lamppost is flogged in front of dozens of bystanders on the curb of a busy street. One of the videos is recorded by a man who says he is in Surjah, Baluchistan. He tells the viewers that they are under siege and that there are close to 1,600 IRGC cars near the village of Suraj, and a helicopter could be seen flying in the sky.

Miami, Florida imam Dr. Fadi Yousef Kablawi of the Masjid As Sunnah An Nabawiyya North Miami discussed the recent Quran-burning protest attended by Swedish politician Rasmus Paludan in his January 27, 2023 Friday sermon. He said that Christians do not care whether Jesus is ridiculed or the Bible or Torah are burned, therefore they do not understand why Muslims are angry when the Quran is burned. Kablawi added that the Christians want the Muslims to be just like they are and continued to claim that Christians burn the Bible themselves if they need fire for their barbecue, for instance. He said that it was Hitler, “whom they taught us [was among] the worst enemies in history, because he killed them” had burned books and added: “You come and you cry over the Holocaust, and you take advantage over every situation, and yet you do a Holocaust for the last seventy plus years to the Palestinians in Palestine.” Dr. Kablawi, who is a dentist, immigrated to the United States from Jordan. The sermon was streamed live on the Masjid As Sunnah An Nabawiyya North Miami’s Facebook page.

Lebanese MP Samy Gemayel, leader of the Lebanese Kataeb Party said that the time has come to realize that Hizbullah is an “Islamic republic” with foreign funding, weapons, and ideology and that it is “trying to get its hands on the pluralistic Lebanese Republic,” in a February 3, 2023 address during the party’s 32nd general assembly that was posted on Kataeb News on YouTube. He said that Hizbullah is “trying to kill the spirit of the Lebanese Republic,” and that Lebanon has moved from a culture of life, love, and openness to a culture of death, martyrdom, and wars. Gemayel said that if a “divorce” with Hizbullah is necessary, that is what should be done, and he added: “We will not live in Lebanon like second-degree citizens.” He explained that he was not speaking only as a Christian, but as a Lebanese citizen. Samy Gemayel, is the nephew of Bachir Gemayel, a Lebanese President-elect who was assassinated by a Syrian terrorist in 1982.

Lebanese politician Omar Harfouch said in a January 23, 2023 show on Al-Jadeed TV (Lebanon) that denying Lebanese citizenship to Palestinian refugees in Lebanon is a “racist and inhuman” apartheid policy. He said that four generations of Palestinians have been born in Lebanon yet remain undocumented even though Lebanon is all they know. He also said that they have no country or identity of their own.
