Have our lighting and alarm integrated in Homekit which is working well. I am trying to setup an automation to turn on all the lights when an alarm is triggered, but it’s not working. Has anyone else set this up? I configured the automation to turn on lights when the security panel is “triggered”.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Mainly to be used due to vandalism among other security concerns during an 8 hour shift. Viewing the sides of the car would be preferable. Wasn’t sure if something like a gopro 360 plugged into a power bank would be a good option, something like a reolink/trailcam, or a more dedicated dashcam style system would work better.

DMP dealer here. We focus on commercial with the ocassional residential job mixed in. Looking for opinions on wireless transmitter performance. DMP panels, apps and software offer a lot of advantages but we have what I think is a high out of box sensor failure rate at 10%. We have noticed that Honeywell is far more reliable out of the box. I would do more residential if we didn’t have so many returns. I am looking for opinions from others. Thanks.

I have an AlarmNet system, Vista 20p with a LTEM-PV. I had recently noticed I was no longer getting sensor/security events. The TC app didn’t give me any clue that something was wrong. I did get a very random loud beep off of my 6160 key pad. When I checked the logs I noticed a large gap in Security Events.

I have my services setup through AlarmGrid. I would think I should get some type of notice that something was wrong?

A hard power reset of the LTEM-PV and all is back to normal. Lights on the unit looked normal. Obviously the LTEM-PV was in some type of failure state. I’m not sure how it would have passed a daily check.

I asked AlarmGrid for an explanation but they are completely silent.

Ive had so many security cameras over the years, but due to their extremely small sensors, regardless of how high their 16k resolution cllaims to be, they have horrible quality. not to bad in good lighting if looking at a full image in entirety, but very pixelated and good luck if you actyally want to see anything in deail.

so here I have a few different action cameras with much better image quality and larger sensors that i’d like to convert into security cameras. First I like the higher quality footage, but also, I enjoy having some of my own home videos in a much better and higher quality.

Is there any good way to convert something like a gopro 8 hero black or even better an Insta360 Ace pro or Ace pro 2 into a security camera? Really, I just want something to be able to utilize the better footage, but also be able to set up in the home an infrared lighting that the cameras can process and get great images just like real security camera all seem to have capability to do now.

Any ideas on where to begin on such a project. the insta306 ace and ace 2 have never been used, but given the image quality shouldn’t be too much different betiween the two, I’d like to keep the ace 2 and have no problems destroying the original ace if i can get the outcome to be a successful security cam.
