Looking for budget security camera that can run off a power bank

Looking for a cheap security camera that doesn’t require much features just only mobile/desktop notification when movement is detected for receiving deliveries for a front door room. No subscription fee.

No recordings required but ability to connect to it to see if the delivery is there live as this will be mostly used for food and just checking that the package is in the house.

There is no mains power outlet in the front door room so I have a large power bank 30,000mah at my disposal to use so if it can run off that that is what I am looking for a camera that can maybe run off that.

No recording functionality required but might be nice if it can but not necessary.

No two way required.

Night vision required as the front door room is motion sensor light activated only so if I want to check if something is there it will be checking it in the dark.

Secondary I am looking for the cheapest security camera that can do all this but will be pointing outside from a window inside the house to check when deliveries and people walk up to the front door.. Same requirements nothing massive needed just notification of people is a must and night vision and ability to check live stream from my desktop and mobile that’s it don’t need audio or talking this camera can be mains powered as there is a power outlet near this location.

Both locations can use WiFi 2.4g or 5g

Just trying to find the cheapest cameras for this with no subscription fee and no ring door bell cameras

5890 sensor , RX7 sounder: Adopt into Honeywell Lyric or nah

I have adopted most of the 58xx series sensors left over from an ADT install (preceded my time in this house) to a self-managed Lyric install. I do have an RX7 sounder, a 5890 sensor, and another PIR sensor (haven’t opened it up yet to get the model number).

Should I add these too?

The 5890 sensor is in the interior hallway outside of bedrooms, while the other PIR is in a living room with large window with entry potential from outside.

What was the original security theory-crafting that led to these PIR sensors installed originally?

The RX7 sounder is hard wired to the half-gutted panel and is in the same hallway as the Lyric. I’m guessing it’s redundant and unequivocally not worth the effort to pull a wire to it from the lyric?

Neo Help

I have a brand new Neo with TL880 installed at a customer’s business. Twice now there have been false alarms with the exact same pattern. Zones are tripped in this order:

Zone 1 door Zone 4 motion Zone 5 motion Zone 6 motion Zone 1 door

I can see on the alarm.com zone monitoring that the door does not open. Yet it trips and so do the motions at basically the exact same time. Zones 2 and 3 are also doors and 7 and 8 are empty. I do have a secondary power supply and expander on the other side of the building with no issues.

Customer is two hours away. I have temporarily set the door to a 24 Hour Non alarm to see if just the motions will cause the false alarm.

Anyone have an idea what this could be? Thanks.

DIY NVR – has anyone built an NVR using the various "motherboards" that are out there?

What type of success have you had if you DIY built an NVR using one of those “motherboards” I’ve seen sold online for quite cheap?

I’ve taken off the cover of a few NVRs (e.g. Lorex from Costco), and they look to be just a motherboard inside a case.

I realize that there will be ZERO tech support from such vendors but I’m a nerdy guy. I may be able to figure it out (perhaps with help from some of you(!)).

I plan to use Tapo and Reolink cameras that offer some sort of ONVIF capability.

I am primarily concerned about the apps these boards use. A lot of them talk about XMeye. I’d like to access recordings and get notifications of alerts on my phone when I’m traveling. Will XMeye do that for me effectively?

And a 2nd concern is whether or not they have a good web interface. E.g. Can I access and configure each remotely without needing to be in front of the board/NVR? I worry that some functionality is lost if I use the web interface.

I don’t need any fancy AI or anything. Just the ability to record 24×7 and to receive alerts from the cameras such as the alerting event gets recorded as a clip. (I want both 24×7 and alert clip recording and notification of alerts).

My current system is Blue Iris but I’m finding it isn’t 100% reliable. It may be the PC I’m using or it maybe Windows. I’d like to give an NVR a try after having used another one at another location. It was a no-name system but was rock solid. That no-name one never crashed and I like that.

Honeywell 6160RF Keypad Randomly Beeps

As stated in the title, my 6160RF randomly emits a beep that is no longer than one second and nothing appears on the display when it occurs. The panel is a First Alert FA168CPS with 5.2 f/w which I believe is equivalent to a Honeywell Vista 20P. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern. Could there be a self diagnostic that triggers the beep? Other than that, the panel runs fine. Thanks.
