I have a medical clinic that has a bunch of panic buttons. Only one dials out. The others are all local alarm only to a chime wired to a PGM. I am currently using zone type 11 Day Zone for the local only buttons. Problem is it doesn’t show on the keypad which zone was activated. Is there a better zone type choice for this? Or is there a way to make it a normal Panic Zone that doesn’t dial out?

What type of license is required for an individual to work on alarm systems that communicate with a central monitoring station or the local authorities? Are there different license requirements for installation and maintenance work?

I’m curious about the states of WI, IL, MI, MN, and IA.

I had an installer come out 3 years ago and install a home security system where all the equipment was free and I just paid $44.99/mo. It’s came with an IQ panel, skybell doorbell camera, 2 motion sensors and 5 contact sensors. The issue is I can’t link my Tesla Homelink and the Alarm.com together to open and close my garage, as Alarm.com monitors garage status.

As of today, I’ve paid $1620 for this system which includes 24/7 monitoring. I figured I could spend $500 for a newer and better system and just pay $20/mo for monitoring, because the doorbell camera is potato quality. My installer said if I wanted to upgrade my camera, I’d have to pay $240 for a new doorbell camera.

I currently have a Concord system with a monitoring contract for another year. Looking to upgrade to something more modern. I’d like a DIY installable system. Here’s what I am looking for:

remote control of system via my phone
either cellular communication for monitoring, or cellular backup for when power/wifi is out
14 doors/window sensors
3 fire alarm sensors
possible: 2 cameras (I already have two, but integrating cameras might be nice).
preferably works with my existing monitoring contract (the Monitoring Center)

Any recommendations?

I have one but it misses things all the time. I need something that will detect motion that’s about 20 feet away, specifically a car. I have a small solar panel already, USB C.

My neighbors use my driveway illegally all the time and I’d like some photo evidence. Today a car drove down my driveway and the camera didn’t catch it at all.

Ideally under $75. Decent night vision would be nice
