Muslims believe that the Quran is Allah’s Eternal Speech, in existence form before the foundation of the universe. However, when we look at history we find something strange – the Quran borrows again and again from human sources. Before the Muslim jumps up and says “we believe the Bible is a corruption of the original Quran, so we’d expect similarities,” that isn’t what we are talking about. We are talking about stuff never considered inspired by anyone. Alexander joins me live to discuss one major category of borrowing – the Quran and Muhammad taking the musings of Jewish Rabbis and calling it Allah’s speech.
